Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears Tickets ? Viewing Stadiums is a Unique City

The city of Chicago represents the largest city located in the state of Illinois, but also the third largest city in the US. This city is renowned for its beautiful architecture and has a history marked by important events, not all of them so happy.

If you are searching for Chicago on a map, you should search between the Mississippi River and the Great Lakes because that is where you will find it. Due to its location, it has rapidly grown into a major transportation hub, but it also represents the cultural, financial and business capital of the Midwest.

The first skyscraper ever to be built emerged in 1885 in the northeast corner of Adams and LaSalle streets. Erected on a steel skeleton, it had ten levels, a basement and nine stories, but in 1890 two additional stories increased the building’s height. In 1931, this building was demolished in order to make room for the Field building, currently known under the name LaSalle bank

Chicago Cubs shortstop Ryan Theriot has made a name for himself as a hard-working, humble guy who’s willing to do whatever it takes to help his team win. This year he’s added another dimension to his game, blasting five home runs to top his career high in just the first two months of the season. Do Bobby Scales, Mike Fontenot, Micah Hoffpauir and Len Kasper like the new “power hitting” Theriot?

Chicago Cubs Fans Are Annoying

Chicago Cubs Fans Are Annoying

Chicago Cubs fans really are beginning to get annoying. All I hear now is how it is unfair that the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees have all the money to spend on good players. The fact is though, Chicago Cubs has the third-highest salary in all of major-league baseball. The problem is that there are always just picking the wrong people for a team. You’ve gotta make sure you put a team together that doesn’t have all the different attitudes that do not mesh.

No, this is not your year. Every time you talk to a Chicago Cubs fans you find yourself wishing that you never did. If it is in February they say, this is our year. If it is in June they say, we like to try to play catch up. If it is in September they say, there’s always next year. No, this is not your year and there is not always next year. The way the team is put together there is no chance of bringing a World Series home to Chicago. The best chance is the White Sox, again! Read more..

Chicago Cubs – The Curse Of The Billy Goat

From GamblersTelevision.com Best Bet Major League Baseball Game 1 Wednesday LA Dodgers (Lowe) at Chicago Cubs (Dempster)(6 ET) (TBS) Derek Lowe pitched down the stretch as well as anyone down the stretch and is part of a 1 2 combo with Chad Billingsley that could take LA very far in the postseason. Lowe is a sinkerball pitcher that gets lots of ground balls. The Dodgers must simply set the table on offense for Manny Ramirez. This is where Joe Torre baseball comes into play. He is a master at getting his hitters to work opposing pitchers deep into the count and tax their arms and wear them out for damage later in the ball game. Lowe has given up 1 earned run or less in 8 of his last 9 starts when it mattered the most during the pennant race. That is simply clutch pitching at its best. The Dodgers bullpen has been outstanding all season. The Cubs are just 2-3 in Ryan Dempsters last 5 starts. Derrick Lowe is a +148 underdog in game 1? The Cubs are not very strong defensively in the outfield. Derrick Lowe has been too good to look elsewhere here getting plus money. If the game comes down the bullpens the Dodgers have the advantage. Your Best Bet for Wednesday Major League Baseball is playing the LA Dodgers +148 against the Chicago Cubs Selection: LA Dodgers +148

Chicago Cubs – The Curse Of The Billy Goat

Why is it that baseball is full of curses? It is just sad that your favorite team cannot win a World Series because of these so-called curses that hit the team. Sometimes, it makes people wonder if these hexes are true. Well, it seems that most baseball fanatics and players are quite superstitious when it comes to their losses.

It is also funny how the effects of these curses coincide within the time it presumably started and the periods wherein the team is not winning. It is not as if the team is unable to win a game. It is just frustrating how an amazing team with the best players will be deprived of getting into a World Series or even win one. Usually it takes years to lift the curse for some it never does.

Take in the case of the red Sox, it took several years before the got their championship titles. It was not until 2004 that they got their first. The hex was totally exorcised when they bagged their second win last year. Everybody

What Happened To The 1969 Chicago Cubs?

The summer of 1969 was filled with a number of firsts. I graduated high school. (Big deal.) Neal Armstrong took the first step on the moon. That was a big deal. And the Chicago Cubs were in first place. Sure you have to admit landing on the moon was a more significant event, but this was the Cubs. But to die hard Cubs fans being in first place was just as important. The Cubs had never been in first place in my life time, but then again at the time I was only 17 years old. Not only were they in first place, everyone and his brother were saying we had the best team in baseball at the time.

Chicago was in frenzy–a Cub’s frenzy! They didn’t know how to act. Everyone was talking about the Cubs. It many times was the lead story on WGN news. People were taking their radios to work to listen to the game. You have to remember the Cubs played all their homes games in the afternoon. Vince Lloyd and Lou Boudreau were household names as were Jack Brickhouse and Lloyd

Chicago Cubs Baseball Tickets Available

One of two Major League franchises in the Windy City, the Chicago Cubs are the reigning back-to-back champions of the National League Central Division. Along with the Atlanta Braves, ?The Cubbies,? as the team is popularly known, are the only remaining charter members of the NL.

The team last won a title in 1908, making its 100-year championship drought one of the longest of any major North American pro sports franchises. The team plays its home games at Wrigley Field, the Cubs? home since 1916, located at Chicago?s north side Lakeview community. The club is currently handled by manager Lou Piniella, with Jim Hendry as general manager and Sam Zell the owner following his purchase of the club?s parent organization, the Tribune Company. Zell, however, has put the club on the auction block.

Chicago Cubs Tickets ? Player Profile: Alfonso Soriano

People who buy Chicago Cubs tickets for the 2007 season of Major League Baseball will get a chance to see a new face in the outfield, that of Alfonso Soriano. Soriano was brought to Chicago in the off season along with several other free agents, including Ted Lilly, Jason Marquis, Cliff Floyd, and Mark De Rosa. The Soriano purchase was an expensive one for the Cubs, but they intend to get a lot out of this proven talent. The season is underway, and it’s too early to actually say whether bringing in Soriano was a good idea or not. That will have to wait for the end of the season. For now, let’s just learn a bit more about the new guy.

Chicago Cubs tickets are never a hard sell in the Windy City, and especially now that they have added a few more recognizable names, including Soriano, tickets should be even more sought-after. How did Soriano get to be so well-known? Most would say that he earned a lot of fans while he was with the New York
